MOONLIGHT BAY AUGUST NEWS LETTER
Well the July weather was wonderful, I hope we are as lucky in August. During July we had our Christmas in July which was a wonderful success thanks to donations and help from many people. The kids, parents, grandparents etc want to say thank you to Santa, the toy elves and the game and face painting people and the driver. Next year we are going to make bike decorating and the bike parade part of Christmas in July.
We would also like to thank all the 50/50 walkers and all the other people who help run the various events. The pool, dart, euchre and horseshoe tournaments were all very successful and very well run, and of course the fireworks were done beautifully.
I would like to remind you that this Saturday Aug 7th, is the Beach Day beginning at 1:00 p.m. with a hot dog B.B.Q. and then on with the fun. We really like it when both adults and kids participate. The games will be fun and enjoyable for all, including a new one by the Toops. Next weekend is the golf tournament and remember you need to sign up for it ahead of time in the Rec Hall. There is also a lunch afterwards for anyone that is interested. Cost for lunch is $2.00 and it will be served when the golfers are done or approximately 1:00 p.m.
Dock deposits for 2000 are due on August 15th. The deposit is 135.00 per dock. If you do not have a dock this year and are interested for next year please pay your 135.00 as this will put you officially on the list.
A few reminders. The first one is about sewers. DO NOT PUT SANITARY PRODUCTS DOWN THE SEWER. On Sunday and Monday of this week the fellows had to respond to four plugged sewers and every blockage was caused by tampons. This is a horrible job and is caused by carelessness. Remember this can affect all the septic system and lead to a lack of facilities for everyone. Please respect others yards and do not use them as a walkway. Please make sure you are driving 10 km an hour and that your guests are doing so as well. Please make sure that you are keeping your pets on leashes and that you are cleaning up after them. Please register your visitors. If you are doing work on your trailer make sure you do the necessary paperwork with the township. The white and black disk on the bottom of the pool has to be there according to the law so please make sure that you do not play with it or try to remove it. The pool has to be closed if the disk is not there.
We would like to thank the campers for helping us keep a nice
clean, tidy campground. Your efforts to keep the beach,
pool, playground and washroom areas nice are greatly appreciated
by us, and by your fellow campers.
