Moonlight Bay
Campground June 2001 Newsletter
The campground meeting was held last Sunday (June 3rd). There was a good turn out and many valid issues were discussed.
The first major issue was people not keeping to the
10/km speed limit!!!! It was mentioned
by one of the regular campers it would be a shame if any of the regular campers were
driving over the speed limit and that we (Peppers and Rec Hall staff) need to inform
everyone of the speed limit as they enter the campground because people are not reading
the signs. We will do our best but we need
the campers to inform all their visitors and delivery people of the speed limit as well. It was also mentioned that the road by the Rec
Hall and the road at the beach are places where speed is excessive and needs to be
reduced. We are going to install two new
speed bumps in these areas.
The pool is still under going renovations. The new steps are in and the liner is suppose to
be in within the next couple of weeks. As
soon as the liner arrives I will contact the Health Inspector, but I have been told that
it could take up to a week for him to be able to inspect it.
We are doing some upgrading in the playground as well,
we are installing railroad ties all the way around the playground and installing a new
slide.
Another subject that was discussed at the campground
meeting was the various activities for the summer and the need for volunteers. We have the sheets at the Rec Hall for sign up.
We had a near mishap earlier this year with a
clothesline that had been put up between two trees and left. So to ensure human safety and for the long term
health of the trees all items attached to trees must be removed within two (2) weeks. If Ben has to remove them there will be a charge. You are allowed to use umbrella clothes lines.
There has been a build up behind and around some
trailers of questionable materials. Please
make sure your site is cleaned up within the next two weeks. There will be a check on all sites in two weeks
time (weekend of June 25th).
The movies have arrived in the Rec Hall. The fee is $2.00 and they are due back by 4:00
p.m. or there is a late fee.
We need a signed contract from everyone so if you have
not filled out one for 2001 please do so, if you have filled out one, please sign it and date it and bring it to Rec
Hall.
A special thank you to Faye Beckwith, Joan Cote and
Mary Eamer for their donations of perennials for
the Rec Hall flower beds and thanks to Faye and Ed Beckwith for planting the beds at the
Rec Hall.
Parking for visitors was also brought up at the
meeting. If you have visitors they MUST park
on your lot or in the visitors parking area. You
can not park on others lots or block access to others lots.
Sewers - make sure
you do not put sanitary products or grease down the drains.
Pets - keep on a
lease and always clean up after.
Quiet time is 11:00 p.m. every night except Saturday. Saturday night it is 12:00 a.m.. A couple of years ago because of complaints it was
decided that Sunday would be a 9:00 a.m. start for noisy activity such as lawn mowing,
construction etc.
Rec Hall hours are still Friday 1:00 p.m. to 10:00
p.m.
Saturday 9:00
a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
It is great to see
all the kids back and they sure are enjoying the freedom camping brings so please drive
carefully so they can keep enjoying themselves.
