1.   Well, what can I say about this year Moonlight Bay Campground Fishing Derby except the weather and fish did not co-operate for most of us.  47 entries (campers, guests, and visitors) registered for the event, which was outstanding.  Those who entered are commended for their efforts.  Only 12 fish were weighed in, 11 Small Mouth Bass and only 1 Pike caught.  In all the years that I have entered this event, this is the first, in which only 1 Pike was caught.

2.  Lets move onto the winner's circle for the derby.  Here is how it went:

1. 1st place largest Pike 4lb was Brad Crook nephew of Sharon & Gerry Fleming lot #51.  Prizes included Shimano Rod & Reel donated by Bennett's Baits & Tackle, Gift certificate, Trophy, Cash, and a Hat donated by Bennett's Baits & Tackle;



2. 2nd place largest Bass (Small Mouth) 3.12lb was Claude Rideout lot #104.  Prizes included Gift certificate, Trophy, Cash, and a Hat donated by Bennett's Baits & Tackle;



3. 3rd place hidden weight 1.12lb Small Mouth Bass was Roger registered with Doug Holmes lot # 51.  Prizes included Gift certificate, Trophy, Cash, and a Hat donated by Bennett's Baits & Tackle;



4. 4th place with a 3.06lb Small Mouth Bass was Ed O'Neill lot # 58.  Prize include a Hat donated by Bennett's Baits & Tackle; and finally



5. 5th place with a 1.11lb Small Mouth Bass was Devon Nordskog lot # 78.  Prize included a Hat donated by Bennett's Baits & Tackle.

3.  The derby would not of been a success without the support of you the campers.  I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge those who put forth extra effort in ensuring this event ran smoothly.  They are as follows; Wayne & Shaun Bennett from Bennett's Baits & Tackle http://www.bennettstackle.com/contact.html (Website link) donations of Shimano Rod & Reel & hats, Denis Tremblay co-organizer, Doug Holmes co-organizer, Gail Wylie for sign-up, Mike O'Grady arranging for trophies; Gerry Fleming for sign up and weigh-in, John Deere for use of equipment tri-pod & digital weigh scale and weigh-in beyond his required time, Gerry Scarcella weigh-in, Ed O'Neill signs, and last but not least for his outstanding effort in supporting the campground Tony.  I only wished more campers would of taken the opportunity to support Tony for his splendid home made beans.  I certainly hope I did not forget to mention anyone, and if I did it was not intentional.  See everyone next Year.
