Moonlight Bay Campground is located 100 km from Ottawa, the Nation's Capital.

14 kilometers (9 miles) to the north, neighbouring Smiths Falls, is situated on the Rideau Canal lock system, and is home to the Hershey Chocolate Factory, the Rideau Canal Museum, and the Railroad Museum.

50 km (30 miles) to the south is the city of Kingston, situated on Lake Ontario, and is home of old Fort Henry, and Queens University.

35 km (20 miles) southeast is the town of Brockville, situated on Lake Ontario, near the Ivy Lea Bridge, and in the centre of the scenic Thousand Islands. Featuring the Thousand Islands Shopping Centre, and port for the Thousand Islands cruise.
